With nearly 20 years in the wedding industry, Larry and Rena have dedicated their careers to creating unforgettable celebrations. Rena shares, "Our journey began in New York City, where we spent a decade as wedding caterers. When we relocated to Maryland, we shifted our focus entirely to wedding planning—helping couples bring their dream weddings to life with expert coordination."

The Events U Love Maryland wedding planning duo specialize in working with couples who want to be actively involved in planning their wedding. Many engaged couples take on this challenge to ensure their vision is fully represented.  Larry and Rena understand that desire.  Larry says, "that was us 27 years ago. As busy professionals, we didn’t want to hand over complete control of our wedding but we also didn’t realize how much we didn’t know."

The ability to empathize and relate to their couples is why Larry and Rena collaborate with couples, acting as their trusted guide throughout the planning process.  Managing the Details! 

Larry wears a few hats at Events U Love.  He is an officiant / ordained minister who officiates ceremonies with warmth and sincerity.  The added value is that Larry also  provides wedding counseling sessions to assist couples as they navigate tough conversations that naturally come up as they move towards merging homes, and lifestyles.
 
With a background in Human Resources management, Larry is especially skilled at managing guest relations for our couples and their guests ensuring everyone feels cared for.

Known as the gentle giant of Events U Love, Larry keeps the couple's celebration running smoothly by supporting the groom and groomsmen, coordinating with on-site vendors, and making sure guests are greeted.
​
What began as a way to support Rena’s passion for serving couples has grown into a passion of his own. Today, Larry not only assists with day of coordination but also manages the officiating side of Events U Love, offering couples a trusted option for both guidance and ceremony leadership.

Envisioning your wedding from  "I do" to the last dance is where Rena excels. Rena states, "By the time your wedding day arrives I would have envisioned it many times from many different perspectives;  yours, mine, your guests, and the vendors. My goal is to make sure everyone in attendance has a positive experience."


Meet Rena!  Rena has helped many of her friends get married; that's how she discovered she loved weddings.  Rena says, "When  Larry and I got married we did everything on our own and it was hard. I quickly discovered that helping friends plan their wedding was very different from planning my own wedding."  

 

That first hand experience of planning a wedding solo is why Rena enjoys collaborating with couples who want to be hands on in the planning process.  Rena shares, "I want to keep other couples from experiencing the feelings of helplessness, overwhelm and frustration we felt.  If you want help, I'm here for you."

FAQ: Where can we see pictures of your work?

That’s a great question. We have talented decorators and florists we can call on to help bring your vision to life. But showing you pictures of pretty tables and backdrops doesn’t tell you if I can execute your timeline or manage your wedding day details, or work with your vendors.  That's where I shine.

​

As a Wedding Coordinator my job is to make sure you have a positive experience. That includes:

  • Create a timeline that flows and maximizes your time.

  • Manage your vendors so everyone knows where to be and when to be there.

  • Read all of your contracts. Be your advocate! Make sure the venue & vendors keep all the promises made in their contracts (that’s a big one!)

  • Provide guidance, direction, and be a good listener.

  • Manage the details on your rehearsal (if you desire) and definitely on your wedding day.

  • And so much more, all with a smile. 😊

  • And, yes, I often put my design background to work  and design pretty tables and backdrops, too!
